TROLLS
AN IMAGINATIVE, MUSICAL MOVIE TELLING A TRULY
TROLLISH TREASURE OF A TALE
BY GABRIEL DOMINIC JAGGERNAUTH ON 6TH DECEMBER, 2016
Trolls is a musical comedy adventure film by Dreamworks. In the movie, trolls Poppy and Branch set off on a quest to save their friends from a troll eating species known as the Bergen, who eat trolls to obtain their joy. Trolls tells its story in such an imaginative and innovative way with such a diverse array of characters that someone could swear a six-year-old came up with the concept and Dreamworks did the rest.

Trolls tells its tale using many elements that the average storyteller may not have been able to utilize or even thought of. Besides the use of music to convey such story, the idea of using the pop-up book concept was creative. Speaking of story, the tale had its hiccups from time to time. Some parts at times honestly felt like filler that was added to allow the tale to move on. It may have influenced the end, but the story felt like it could have done without using it.

The main characters within Trolls all seemed to have such colourful personalities, most notably Poppy, and character development went pretty deep, especially for Branch. These two characters being brought together to tell this thrilling tale was simply splendid and had us begging for more.

Trolls weakest point may lie within the story itself, its only flaw. With a brilliant array of characters and such a colourful way of telling the story, including its amazing music selection, Trolls has been able to win over our hearts, and thus it also wins an 8.1/10
