WE GIVE THIS MOVIE A...
MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL
ERASE THIS MESS FROM MY MIND

Men in Black: International (or MIB: International, for advertising purposes) is the fourth film in the Men in Black series, starring Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, and is considered a spin-off of the original series, featuring new faces to tell a new story. This movie tells the tale of two agents; the renowned Agent H and newcomer Agent M, and their adventure to stop a race of aliens known as The Hive. While the movie does try to tell a decently funny and action-packed story, it falls as hard as its second installment on so many levels.

The plot of the movie can be compressed into a three-word sentence: Stop the Hive. That part is obvious, Everything else... not so much. There is so much overloaded details in this story that it is hard to pull it all together. Not going to say much else about it, because it would spoil the film for fans of the series wishing to give this movie a chance, but I do hope those fans are able to keep up with elements that zoom on past. It also does not help that this movie has a serious pacing issue. Many parts either go too fast or too slow. It takes away so much for those parts we enjoyed and makes us lag through the parts that we did not.

The saving grace of this film has to be the chemistry between Hemsworth's character, Agent H, and Thompson's character, Agent M. It is clear to see that Chris Hemsworth's acting still holds up and that the pair can be able to hold the movie together. Thompson's somewhat quirky behavior and Hemsworth's acting of that of a somewhat proud agent really brings these characters to an enjoyable level. If a MIB 5 was to be in order, we hope to see these faces together again soon with so much more of a character backstory to tell in order to flesh out their characters.

Men In Black: International has a serious story problem and it basically brings the movie down. If it weren't for Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson being at the helm of the acting wheel, this movie would fall more than the 2.5/10 that we are giving it, and we hope to see something better from the franchise soon.
FUN FACTS ABOUT THE FILM
- Agent H picking up a hammer in the movie is a reference to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically the character of Thor, whom Hemsworth also portrays.

- This is not the first instance of Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson working together in a film. Both have worked together before in Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame, with Hemsworth portraying Thor and Thompson portraying Valkyrie.

- This is the first movie in the franchise without the appearance of Will Smith as Agent J
