SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS

SEASON 10

BY GABRIEL JAGGERNAUTH (16TH JANUARY, 2015)

The new Spongebob Movie is coming out in 3 weeks, and Spongebob is one of the longest cartoons on Nick, so we thought now would be good to start reviewing the series that inspired it.

Spongebob has been claimed to be the best show on Nickelodeon, but their are a few things to question about it, like the "jokes" and "images" that younger kids may fail to understand, but if you are a teen used to and love seeing these jokes, it is the perfect find the inappropriate joke finder kinda show for you.

Spongebob is also negatively received for some topics that are being used in each episode. In "Spongebob, You're Fired", the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program critized it for its reference to unemployment and there are also episodes where viewers receive them negatively, again, like "Spongebob, You're Fired" and "Atlantis Squarepantis". Sometimes, the writers go a little too far with the scenarios mentioned in the plot, causing negative receptions for those episodes. On the other hand, there are those well received episodes which follow great plots, such as "Best Day Ever". These episodes at least make sure that the series is not as bad as some claim it to be, because they can put heart touching moments into the show.

Spongebob characters also provide the best for everyone to enjoy. Humor, action, and even science (If you are into it).

Spongebob is a well enough made show, though, but some of its fatal flaws lies in its references (One of the main reasons why parents may not let their kids watch it) and some of its plots, though others are in deed touching and make up for the negatively received episodes.

We are so-so with the series and so we give it a 5.5. There is so much more that could be done to help the series in the future.
