SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SPONGE OUT OF WATER
BY GABRIEL DOMINIC JAGGERNAUTH (22ND FEBRUARY, 2015)
Spongebob comes back to the big screen for a second movie, and seems to be just a bit bigger and just a bit better. Sponge out of waters, as the name obviously implies, send the water dwellers to the surface to look for the Krabby Patty Formula, but how the story came to be is beyond me. It is a unique work indeed, but still leaves a bit to be desired, such as the story, which was kinda odd, but it was tailored to kids younger than me (I'm 14). The story was still great though, especially action scenes which will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Spongebob does manage to squeeze in some of its usual somewhat rude humor here and there, but also makes small references some of the original series. Did you watch the credits to see Squidward Dancing? Or notice Plankton's line when he tries to take the Krabby Patty in the robot? These are stuff to look out for.
The main thing to talk about is the CGI scenes, which looked pretty amazing, as well as the use of 3D. The CGI scenes were wonderful, again, for older viewers, and is one of
the two reasons it was rated PG.
So as it is to tell, the Cartoon animation can be said to be more for kids and the CGI leaves something for older audiences.
Oh, and did you catch ERB's creators, NicePeter and EpicLloyd in a cameo. Try to look for them (And check out our review for them on the page)
We loved the movie and we are glad to give it a 8.2, better than the original series was given.
