WE ARE CRITICAL, BUT NOT SO CRITICAL

PROJECT: ALMANAC
BY: GABRIEL DOMINIC JAGGERNAUTH (15TH FEBRUARY 2015)
Project Almanac shows David Raskin (who tried to get a scholarship to go to College, because he could not pay the tuition, forcing his mom to sell their house), his sister, Christina and his friends, who discover a time machine his dad was working on before his death. Along the movie, the guys do amazing, yet somewhat wrong things, such as cheating on the lottery and cheating on a test, eventually leading up some horrible events.
This must be one of those few times that Michael Bay does not use explosions, but still does something to the film's downfall, this time, poor camera work, which the story is that the entire film is shown from the perspective of the group and their camera which they use to film their adventure. At no time was a professional camera angle used. The whole time, it was recorded as if it was done by a 10-year old. It left for major 4th Wall breakings and sloppy execution.
Also, the story was a bit underwhelming, confusing and again... poorly executed. The love between two characters came way too fast, there was no kind of conclusion and it seemed only effects was the thing that saved the film, if it was even saved.
I enjoyed Project Almanac, but there was too much that really hindered it's further success. I give it a 3.8.
