STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

LIGHTYEARS OF ENJOYMENT IN ONE FILM

BY: GABRIEL JAGGERNAUTH ON 10TH JANUARY, 2016

Star Wars: The Force Awakens brings all the feelings of suspense, emotion, sorrow and joy all packed into one amazing two and a half hours.  It will make you laugh, cry and say "Thats gonna leave a mark," here, there and everywhere.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set about 30 years after the film, 'Return of the Jedi' and features new characters Finn, a reformed stormtrooper (And probably the best mixture of action and emotion) and Rey, a scavenger abandoned as a child on the desert planet Jakku, as well as veterans Hans Solo (Who may have experienced his last rodeo), former princess - now resistence general Leia (Who, in the process, received a new hair due), and long lost Luke Skywalker (Only to be seen at the end of the film). Thrown into the situation through many events, it is up to Rey and Finn to help the resistence destroy the plans of The First Order  and their StarKiller Base (Imagine the Death Star bigger than Jupiter)

The action in the movie goes without saying. It exceeded my expectations and it will definitely exceed yours too. I did not expect the bits of humour in between and I must commend the movie for that. I also didn't expect the kind of emotion that John Boyega (Finn) portrayed and I can honestly say that it left a tear or two (Or maybe more) in this reviewer's eyes. And to the added effect, there was one death I certainly wished did not happen ( I think a lot of fans would agree) but it had to be done to keep the story rolling.  Certainly an amazing blend of humour, action and emotion. And to top the cake, the effects were certainly eye popping (Especially if you watched in 3D). Everything about the movie was amazing and worth the time and money.

Thisnew installment of the Start Wars Series brings back a retro and post-modern mix and it deserves a 9.1/10 in our pages
